Hi Jude, You wrote about using a link to the iTunes Power Search page for podcasts: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZSearch.woa/wa/advancedSearch?mt=2
that I mentioned in a reply to Dane about my post on "Podcasts, Audiobooks, and General iTunes Information [was Re; I Toones]" That information is available at: http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40macvisionaries.com/msg18746.html and your query about whether the link worked, and the context of my exchange with Dane (where i said that I did my searches through the Power Page) is given at: http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40macvisionaries.com/msg18820.html On Monday, September 24, 2007, at 12:02AM, "Jude DaShiell" wrote: >It turns out the link is valid. What's happening if you're being ask to select library is that iTunes is going through some initialization process, and you started with iTunes closed. Possibly, this is the first time you've accessed iTunes after downloading a major update. The web address is working to do a re-direction to a Power Search location in iTunes. Usually, this works for me even if I have iTunes closed, but having the app open makes it easier. If there's some reason iTunes can't respond quickly -- because of heavy usage of the Store, or because iTunes is involved in heavy processing or initialization, the page won't appear, and I might have to try the link again. But in most cases this will work even if I'm playing something in iTunes. I wouldn't use the web-link to the Power Search page to search for podcasts if you're on a system with limited memory (e.g., you have 512MB and you also installed Fusion, etc.) or if you have been experiencing a lot of "VoiceOver busy" messages with even normal use. That's why I described the simpler and more robust search method in my post, because this puts more of a load on the system. Hopes this helps to clear things up. And I think that you'll like iTunes once you've gotten comfortable with it. Esther
