Too broad a question. I'm not a VO user, but I do prefer apps that are accessible because of VisioVoice doing better with them (as well as other accessibility stuff I use). As a developer, "a dozen settings" could be duplicated with a global "Optimise for VoiceOver" setting in prefs which would make it easier to start with (or perhaps if it has an installer, put the option in the installer?).

As for "is it worth it" ... depends on many things including whether there's a viable alternative, the differences in function and price between the alternative and your product, the importance of having the product at all (can you do without it?), and basically whether it's worth the bother - which is a different equation for every user and I don't think anybody could even begin to answer it in the abstract without even knowing what the program is, what it does, etc.
