As David has mentioned, with the talking interface turned on, visiovoice
will do some speaking in apps not covered by vo. I use visiovoice
extensively for converting files to audio and I also find it easy to read
in visiovoice. In Tiger, if my reading was interrupted by something else
from voiceover or the system speech, I could just start play up again and
it started where I had left off; I haven't yet extensively explored
whether the interruption problem still exists with vo on leopard. this
isn't a visiovoice problem; it happens when I'm trying to read something
with voiceover too.
The license is for one computer but you can by a household license that
allows four additional computers.
Of course it depends on what your needs are, but I personally highly
recommend visiovoice and the infovox-ivox voices. Assistiveware is also
highly responsive to users' questions and problems.
