Hi all, am just starting out here with Automator, and am confused
about something, so I'm hoping someone here might give this a go...
I've put together a work flow with three actions;
1 create a new text edit doc
2 get text from current webpage
3 set contents of text edit doc
So what I'm getting so far is simply a text edit doc with only a
return character in it. I'm not sure what's up in that the set
contents of text edit document is supposed to take the text output of
the previous step, I.E. the text received from the web page, and then
place it in the already opened blank document.
there's nothing obvious to me at the moment, why this isn't
working, as nothing in the descripts of these actions says to me that
any of them need an extra step or such that I might be overlooking?...
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
If I can get this running, then I'm hoping to add functionality to
take the text in the web page from the VO cursor, and search for it in
the Text Edit doc after it's been opened, so that the effective result
is that someone on a webpage can simply issue a command, which will
open a text edit ådocument of the same page, and place them exactly
where they were in Safari, so they can then read the page with VO A
from the cursor to the end of the document.
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
