I have been considering OCR programs lately and looked at ReadIris Pro 11. It seems that to purchase it within the US is about US$50 cheaper than to purchase it outside of the US even if you only want English languare recognition. Since it's a delivered by download, I can't see the slightest point to charging people US$50 for the crime of not living in America - does anybody know why on earth they do this?

With the appropriate discounts the program costs about US$60 for US addresses and somewhat over US$100 for others, that's a huge difference for somebody whose entire income is about US$200 a week! I will email them directly about this too, but I would very much like to know why they do it.
