Dear jesse, Thanks for the suggestions. You are probably right about all the things you have said. As Hal wouldn't perform well after the installation, I asked a sighted friend to go into the control panel and look under display. He was unable to change the resolution of the screen. He also said the screen looked as if it had too few colours. I think the drivers must have installed incorrectly. I will do what you suggested and see.
