Gizmo project 4 has been out for a while and if you thi nk Jabber is
hard to set up then you don't know what you're talking about. The
Gizmo project is just another way of setting up a jabber account under
google. I didn't really see any advantage to setting up gizmo
project, in fact from an accessibility standpoint it is a step
backward from ichat. As far as you're empty contact list goes, go
into the Ichat view and check show offline buddies and uncheck use
groups.

Subject: Please read! Major, Major problem with Jabber server!
Hi all,
Well, I've set up my Jabber server, partly by myself, and Jessie
screen shared and did the wrest, including DMZing my router. Now
I have a major problem.
It seems as though the Jabber server reckognises me because it
logs me into aim and well, tries to login to MSN; I hear the
connection sound twice. However when I go to my Jabber list,
nothing is there. It's an empty table.
So I believe me and Jessie configured it right, but if we didn't,
please correct me. If we did it right, which was just basically
following the prompts, then I guess I'll have to get someone who
is willing to host 24/7. If my server was up I'd offer accounts
but this is a strange problem and if I have to, I suppose I'll
just go on windows for MSN. Anyone know if Miranda's Mac version
works? Perhaps we could try that instead of this Jabber crap.
Hopefully Gizmo Project 4 wil be out for the Mac soon so that
wecan stop worrying about Jabber, it's frustrating me already;
all I wanna do is get on MSN. Nothing else.
Thanks.
