I have used NVDA a bit and am on the nvda list just watching the
activity. I think that if you start using NVDA, you may become pretty
impressed at what they have been able to accomplish. I was able to
use MS office word and excel. I checkd and wrote email on outlook.
It even handles html messages. It supports internet explore and, my
favorite, firefox. They have found ways to make it read PDF files.
You can play and manage media with winamp. I have found that it is
more responsive than JAWS or WinEyes for the tasks that it works with.
And the NVDA culture seems pretty proactive when it comes to finding
ways to do stuff with it; much like the vo community.
