OK what i should have said is that i needed my contacts to import in to my
address book.
any how i've done it now but some of the contacts don't have a name it's
blank in the name field.

Are you using Adium? If you are why did you have to import your contacts
as the should have been automaticly imported as soon as you signed into a
particular account?
