Ok, well I kept an Itunes library on my external hard drive when I used
to use Itunes to store music, I don't use it any longer preferring to use
VLC but that's another matter for another day <smile>.
If your friend wishes to use a library on an external drive then just
copy the "itunes" folder to the desired location on the external drive.
Start Itunes and hold down the option key, Itunes will then prompt you to
choose a library, point Itunes to the location of the library on the
external drive and everything should be fine.
