Hi Olivia,

You asked: How do I open an attachment which is inbeded in a message?

It was sent by a windows user and is a microsoft word document, but VO space doesn't seem to be opening it. What else can I try?

TK:
• If you press enter on the message when in the Messages Table, then navigate left with VO you will find the Save pop-up, activate it with VO-space.
• Arrow down to find the attachment name then press return.
• Press cmd-shift-d to bring focus to the Desktop in the File Table, then just press return and the document will save to your Desktop. • Now, press VO-shift-d to bring VO to the Desktop and locate the saved document. • With focus on the document, press VO-shift-m to bring up a Contextual menu, arrow down to Open With then right and down to TextEdit.

Now you can read it. One alternative method you could use is when the document has opened in Word:

• press cmd-p to bring up the Print dialog.
• navigate to the item that reads "pdf".
• activate it with VO-space and arrow down to Save as PDF.
• Save it to the Desktop as outlined above.
• bring focus to your Desktop, locate the file and press cmd-o to open it.

It will now open in Preview which is totally accessible.

Later...
