eric, the reason command-f5 tI bet we could assign a hot key to circumvent 
the fn requirement.
urns it off is that the fn key is automatically switched when vo is running. 
Most of the time, it's not necessary to turn vo off.

Thanks folks,  The problem was the fn key.  For some reason Command
f5 on it's own will turn the thing off, but to turn it on you need the fn.

I'll get there, but I won't guarantee there won't be another hundred
instances of little things like this going a miss before I do, smiles.
