Hi Søren,

It's possible to check out the latest episode of a podcast without
downloading it from iTunes if you select the iTunes Store in your
source list, tab to the search text field, type in the name of the
podcast+return, then tab to the songs outline and interact. You
can stream the latest episode of the selected podcast by pressing
carriage return, and you can pause/resume it with the space bar just
as you can when playing songs in your library. If you want to
subscribe to the podcast VO-keys right arrow a few times to the column
where you hear "free" and route your mouse cursor to your VoiceOver
cursor (Control-Option-Command+F5 -- laptop users may need to add FN).
(Skip this last step if you have "Mouse Cursor tracks VoiceOver Cursor"
checked in your VoiceOver navigation options.)

I prefer to go to the iTunes page for the podcast, where I can sample
any of the episodes that are available on the feed, read the episode
description, and download individual episodes without subscribing to
the podcast. It looks as though Apple is in the middle of upgrading
the web-integrated search capabilities, so I can't simply tell you to
get this location by using the contextual menu -- it's pointing to
their testing suite right now, and it looks as though they've been
adding tags so you can go to specific podcast episodes in the list.

You can read one of the mail archive posts to see how this works, though:

http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40macvisionaries.com/msg23751.html

And you can try the example link given there for the Screenless Switchers
podcast page at the iTunes Store at:

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=161020459

(right now, if you were to use the "Copy iTunes Store URL" for this you
would get:

http://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?d=161020459

and the different prefix (ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net instead
of phobos.apple.com) only shows up source xml files in the browser instead
of taking you to the iTunes page.

HTH

Cheers,

Esther
