if you got it with your Macbook, it should work fine with readiris or 
omnipage.  the big hurdle is making sure a scanner is compatible with mac 
os.  Sadly, I have two paperweights that are not.

I actually got an all-in-one HP printer, scanner and copier free with
my Macbook.  Does anyone know if that would be accessible or would you
