try your mac user name and password. also bear in mind that the printer
might not be sharable. to discover its sharability or lack thereof, in it's
properties, click the sharing tab. If it is sharable, it will allow you to
share it.

Subject: Adding a printer that's on a windows machine?

Hey all, I've attempted to add a printer that's on a windows mating,
and it comes up with an authentication dialog, and I've tried putting
in the username and password required to log into the windows machine
that the printer is connected to, and no go. Is this the username
and password that it is wanting? Or are there printers out there
that actually can accept usernames and passwords to connect to them.
WOuldn't want to have to get a whole new printer just to use it on the
mac.
