Hello. I downloaded a Fedora 8 virtual machine from Vmware's virtual
applience site. When I tested the Festival speech synthesizer, I got
garbled sound. In order to solve the problem, I thought I could
remove /etc/alsa/asound.state and asound.conf and reconfigure Alsa.
However, now I can't even run the Alsa utils such as amixer. What can
I do to get actual working sound under this virtual machine?
