It doesn't allow any apparently as I've just installed it and there's
no export in the menues what-so-ever. There is import, but no
export. Same for the idea of exporting to v-cards. No export,
although I haven't finished looking for that yet, there might be
something in the actual addressbook window for exporting.
Dang! The great thing about eudora under windows, as with all of the
programs I've adopted over theyears, is that when you back up or
transfer to another computer, all you have to do is coppy and paste
the application data folder and wammo! You are up and running,
registered and everything. I never counted four years ago on wanting
to switch to a mac. How could I have been so backward thinking?
*kicks self*
Insidentally, my firefox bookmarks are an html file, and they seem to
have imported just fine. Now I can't find them. It looks though like
safari has somewhere over 300 pre-sets though. They may just be
berried. But that is a rediculous lot of presets. I haven't
acumulated that many favourites in 4 years. I don't even think I've
got a hundred.
Best,
Erik

Yeh, I tried it with my eudora email boxes and my eudora addressbook.
I haven't tried it with my firefox bookmarks yet, because I've been
really using my notebook, and when the imports fail, it's a minor
inconvenience.
Basicly, the computer let's me brows to my backups where the files to
import reside. Then I hit the import button and the process hangs. I
left the progress indicater screen up for an hour once but it just sat
there. The only way I could get back to normal operation was to go to
the apple menu and forse quit mail, or addressbook in the case of my
addressbook. The same thing happened both cases.

Erik

Erik,
It is easy to import email and favorites. Have you tried yet? if
you have
issues, after trying, let us know. I've done it many times.

Well dang, For me it was a no brainer. The first thing on a new
installation of leppard for me was setting up my internet connection.
The second was setting up mail so I could persecute the list here
with
all my newbie questions, smiles.
Of course I did it backwards. The first thing I should have done was
wip out a tutorial and figure out how to get to menue bars and such.
That did come later when my kid in a candystore joy had mellowed
somewhat into kick the sh*t out of this useless piece of... rage.
I also found that none of my windows files would import to the mac,
so
a vmware instalation of windows xp became a priority until I can
figger out how to get my old email and faves over to the mac side.

Erik
