It's only the MacBooks which lack a numeric keypad. Jaws and other screen readers provide alternative key layouts which could be an option. You can also purchase external numeric keypads for as little as $5. I have a wireless one that I bought at Best Buy for $5.49 a couple of months ago. You have lots and lots of options. Don't lose sight of the bigger picture. MacBook users are not the only Mac users. Mac Minis, Mac Pros, and iMacs all use keyboards with a numeric keypad.
