I can't answer your questions, exactly, but I can say that Safari can also mimic IE. If you go to Safari Preferences in Safari 3.1 or later, choose the Advanced page, then go all the way down to "Show Develop Menu in Menu bar". That will add a menu to the menu bar that will allow Safari to fool servers into thinking it is almost any browser imaginable. :)

I recently downloaded ICab and am playing around with it. It seems to
be very similar to Safari, but it has bookmarks and favourites and
they look easier to use than the ones with Safari. Does anyone know
the differences between the two browsers for blind users and between
bookmarks and favourites? Also, I downloaded this for my job because
Safari isn't working with a website/program called VanillaSoft. I
went to the site and used the log-in information provided by my boss
and it said it only works with Internet explorer. ICab has an option
to appear as Internet Explorer. Do you think this will solve the
problem? And which version should I choose, since there are several
available. If not, has anyone worked with VanillaSoft on a Mac? If
so, what browser did you use?
