Hi,
Under System Profiler, under Diagnostics I have 2 items. The Apple Hardware test and the date and results of last run. And the Power On test last run and results.
Both items passed.

Interesting. did the instructions say what the name of the file is and
where it would be located?

I guess if you run system profiler, you can get some of this.

Hello Dave,
Not to my knowledge, because no errors were found. According to the
instructions, if an error is found, a report is placed on the hard
drive if it is still accessible. But these instructions don't say if a
report is produced if no errors are found.

Hello,
This is what I did. I decided to run the Apple Hardware Test. My son
was here to read the screen to me. It was rather simple.
1. With the Install DVD 1 in the drive I started the unit while
holding down D.
2. Once the diagnostic tool came up, I asked my Son what it said. He
said that I had to choose language and that English was already
selected by default.
3. After the next screen came up, it wanted to confirm that I wanted
to run the test and the default answer is yes.
4. The test ran.
5. At the end of the test I had some choices: Rerun the test or
Restart the computer
6. I restarted the computer and ejected the CD.
That's what we found when running the Hardware Test.

Hi, I'm interested in this myself. Would it be possible to script
the diagnostic tool? Had a couple regretable insidents on my new
macbook that have me a bit worried and I was going to post here for
help running a diagnostic soon, so this discussion is quite timely.

Maybe I'll drop into the apple store and they will help me script it
in which case I'd have something to share back.

Best,

Erik

Hello,

I would seek help from sighted assistance or your local Genius Bar
for this task. I'm sure your local Apple Store would gladly assist
you, and they've got better tools too.

Hello,
I want to run the Hardware Test. But I have a few questions.
I doubt if it will work with VO, so here are my questions.
1. Is the Default Language English?
2. After the Hardware Test comes up, can I just press inter to
start the test in Inglish?
3. How will I know when the test is done?
4. Will a report or log be placed on the HD?
Thanks for any answers in advance.
