Hello James,

The method for reading to the end of a web page will also work for reading from heading to heading, or over any number of headings. It's really very flexible.

Cheers,

Anne

Hi Anne,

I am thinking more along the lines of continuous reading from a specific point. Say, moving to heading and reading down from there. Similar to Say all in JAWS or Read to end in window-eyes.

Hello James,

To read a whole web page, position yourself on HTML CONTENT WITHOUT INTERACTING AND PRESS COMMAND-A TO SELECT ALL; GO TO THE SAFARI MENUS, PRESS S FOR SERVICES, GO RIGHT TO THE SUBMENU AND PRESS SP FOR SPEECH AND PRESS RETURN ON START SPEAKING TEXT.

YOU CAN SET A SHORTCUT FOR THIS IN SYSTEM PREFERENCES UNDER KEYBOARD & MOUSE.

ONCE YOU HAVE READ A WEB PAGE, YOU CAN GET QUICKLY TO THE PART YOU WANT BY USING EITHER THE LINK CHOOSER MENU (VO-U), OR THE ITEM CHOOSER MENU (VO-I). JUMPING FROM ONE HEADING TO THE NEXT WITH VO- COMMAND-H CAN ALSO BE VERY USEFUL.

I think it is reading the first screenful of text. I do wish there was a say all on the web, yes I know we can stop interacting and read with VO A, but that reads from the top.

but why does voice over read automatically then and then bleep at you when a new screen is required why not just read one line and stop then you ahve to interact?

If you interact and press command shift A you can read continuously.
