I've used smarterchild in the past with good success. Has your basics
like weather, movie reviews, calculator and a couple dozen others.
Reminds me of the old compuserve command line interface. Just Im with
smarterchild and send it a message. It will walk you through some silly
profiler like whether you have pets. After that you're free to explore.
It takes near English commands and questions. So you can type
How many people live in swaziland
and it will answer back
1,133,066
You can also IM requests to be reminded about something at a certain
time. Lots of handy stuff.

I got another salmon message today. This time, the person claimed to
be a robot and it seemed to be true. It responded far too quickly to
be a human. It asked me questions like name, age etc, nothing too
personal. Whatever I said, it would take from there, ex, I love
reading, what do you love about reading. it asked me to teach it
phraises etc. To be honest, it was really fun talking with the bot.
I'm just hoping it's not a virus and that it can't access my Mac. Has
anyone experienced anything like this? Is it ok if I continue talking
to it? Of course, I know not to give out anything personal, just as
with a human. if not, does anyone know where I can find safe bots to
talk to? If it is some kind of spying program, is there a way I can
track down who did this and disable it?
Thanks,

Ok, this is the weirdest thing I've ever seen. I get a message from
someone with salmon in their name, reply, and then they change the
first part of their name, keeping the salmon. Then, they tell me they
have no clue who I am. Each time, it appears to be a different person
with a different prefix and they seem genuinely shocked when I tell
them the story. One was even annoyed when I responded. This has
happened about four times now, all randomly and out of nowhere. Does
anyone know what's going on?
Thanks,
