It's almost analogous to running terminal locally on your Mac, but
from any other computer on the internet.
It is very useful for many people, but it can be an extremely
dangerous security risk for the unprepared user.
If you think remote logon/ssh may be of use to you, I suggest you
read the security reader report on macintouch at:

Actually, I suggest you read macintouch anyway, it's a great source
of information.
