Hi Cara and Mike, The problem with the CAPTCHA in trying to set up a free trial dot Mac account came up in posts last December, when the discussion was about how you could use these accounts for iChats. Dan ended up having to call Apple Support to have them set up the 60-day free trial account :

Anyway, the impression I had was that the accessibility issues about activating a trial account from the web site had been bumped up (see the link), but I guess it still hasn't been solved. Mike, are you trying out the dot mac account in response to the discussion about remote logins (Jane's question), and other ways of accessing files that are on your Mac from remote computers?
