> Hi Shaun,

You said: OK, I don't want it to be copied to my I Tunes library but
I didn't see that feature in advance/importing I only saw the CD
option. Is there something else I need to look for?

TK: The Copy choice is under the General tab of the Advanced pane in
the iTunes Preferences. Note that this only works for items on your
local HD, items on an external HD will be copied no matter what state
that button is set to.

As a matter of interest, you could use Quick Look to simply play music
without importing. Just open the folder, press cmd-a to Select All
the songs, then press space-bar to open Quick Look. You will be
presented with a dialog where you can press the "Start Slide Show"
button to start playing the songs without import. Use the arrow keys
to go to next and previous songs. The only limitation here is that
the songs cannot be organized within folders within the parent folder
as Quick Look will simply open the folder instead of playing the song.

HTH.
