In the past I've used a macbook/iTunes with a sound rack for outdoor
picnic kinds of setups and I just draped a towel over the whole thing
with the lid open to keep the sun off. It's amazing how hot equipment
gets when exposed directly to the sun.

an umbrella will do nicely or you could get a usb fan.

Subject: Leaving My Mac in the Sun
Many times, I love to sit in the sun and listen to music. I used to
do this with my walkman and had no problems. But I'm very worried
about leavning my Macbook in the sun. Of course, it gets very hot and
the fan goes crazy. Please, can anyone offer suggestions as to how I
can cover it and keep it safe?
Thanks,
