I have never had problems with NTL myself but I did have to fiddle
with settings in googlemail which uses secure socket or something so
as I can remember vaguely some check boxes have to be ticked in the
process of configuring her account. I can't remember what values are
being used for secure socket but maybe 110? Sorry I can't remember any
more now.
