Hi Cara,

I just wanted to add that there are some native functions that the
Apple Remote can do -- such as control Windows Media Player
and iTunes under Boot Camp -- that don't require third party
apps. The most up-to-date source of information I've found of
what the Apple Remote can do is in the wikipedia entry at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Remote

A summary of the features that I thought might be most interesting
to list readers at the time of posting (December 9, 2007) is given
in:

http://www.mail-archive.com/discuss%40macvisionaries.com/msg24480.html

This is a summary extraction from the Widipedia entry at that
time, but includes things like the ability to control functions under
Boot Camp that aren't mentioned in the:

http://gnuhaus.com/iblog/archives/000200.html

link you first posted (which appears to be Mac OS X specific).

Sorry I didn't post back on this earlier, but I haven't been following
these threads that closely.

Cheers,

Esther
