Dear All,

I still feel quite green in the world of Mac computers so forgive for the following simpleton's questions.

When connecting peripheral devices to my Macbook pro, do I need current drivers? To be specific, I have two devices which I used to use on the Windows side: epson perfection 1200 usb scanner which I bought in 2002, and Canon I560 usb printer which I bought in 2004. I have found Mac os 10 compatible drivers for both on the Internet and tried to install them but without much success. Do I need these drivers? Epson drivers are supposed to come with some utilities giving one some extra functionality. I found runninginstaller programmes for these two drivers pretty inaccessible. In fact, in both cases while installing them, they hung on the install/quit screen for ages and ages and I crudely terminated them. As for the epson driver, there is some epson monitor application which I cannot remove from my application folder as I get the message that the application is runnig. I can't see it running though. How can I find it and confirm it so that I can remove it?

Thanks for your help in anticipation.

Simon
