I hear that the new version of Skype is not very accessible to any screen reader as yet. I thought it might be just the PCs having problems.

Felix asks, do you have to be in list view or column view to do this? (get voice mail messages as described)

Also, the new Skype version that just came out, it seems there's no way to find out how fast a file transfer is being sent, and there's no audio clicking at all that indicates its actually being sent. Felix is using an older version of skype to get the audio clicking during file transfer back and to be able to access the audio reading of what percentage of the file is sent, and how fast it's being sent.

He's asking if anyone knows how to access this on the newest version of Skype?

Thanks

On the few occasions when I actually use the Mac to handle voicemails,
I do this: Find the "Show missed events" button, which is just before
the horizontal splitter in front of the Contacts table. It's not
named, but VO+H will name it. Press that, then find the event table,
which will be full of "unknown" lines. The lines do respond to the
Context menu command, VO+Shift+M, and voicemails have a Listen option
in that menu. Voicemails also leave the table when finished playing.
Note: It works best to avoid interacting with this table, because
then you'll get row numbers. If you arrow up past row 1, you'll end
up in the Search text field and have to find the right table again.

Note also that there is a table available that lists missed events in
a tree format that reads rather nicely, but unfortunately it doesn't
seem to allow interaction. When you try to click on something in that
table, you end up back in this table of Unknowns again. The tree-like
table can be found by clicking the "Open History" button that appears
after you show missed events.

Btw, the way I know to clear missed events, other than clicking Mark
All as Viewed, is to choose the Mark as Viewed option in each event's
Context menu. This is how I clear missed calls. Voicemails, as I
said, tend to clear themselves when you manage to play them.

Hi again all.

Can anyone tell me if someone is calling on skype I know you only have a short amount of time to use vo and right arrow to move over to the answer button. If you don't move over fast enough to the answer button, is there any other way to answer the ringing call? The call rings long enough the answer option seems to only stay on the screen for around 10 seconds or there abouts. I've searched in the menus and can't find any answer option so maybe doing vo right arrow is the only way you can answer a ringing call.
Any info would be great.

Also can anyone tell me if when you get a new voice mail message on skype on the mac, is it possible to locate the voice mail message and listen to it?
If so, where will the voice mail message show up please?
