Not that I know a, however, hit vo+H on each of them as a lotta them have
help tags and if you do vo h, it'll tell you what the buttons actually are.

Well thanks for all of the replies. I was actually doing pretty much as you
all suggested, with the exception of turning off the cursor tracking,
(thanks Doug). To follow up with another question. Let's again use Skype
as an example. I note that in the main window (the one which lists contacts
etc) there are some unlabeled buttons. Is there a way to affix labels?
