Hi John,
Are these Harry Potter book files the ones from the iTunes Store? I
don't know whether files containing DRM (Digital Rights Management)
that are split will play correctly under iTunes or on an iPod. Also,
I thought that the audiobooks sold at the iTunes Store have chapter
markers, so you can use Command-Shift-Right Arrow to move forward by
chapter and Command-Shift-Left Arrow to move backward by chapter when
playing the audiobook in iTunes. Is there another reason that you
want to split the large file up into chapters? Note that once you
start playing the audiobook you can also go to a Chapters menu that
will appear on the iTunes menu bar (for chapterized audiobooks or
podcasts). Use VO-keys+M to go to the menu bar, and type "C" for
Chapters, then arrow down in the menu. You'll be able to choose your
chapter and find out the corresponding time for any chapter in this
list. Audiobooks from Audible that contain Chapter markers can also
be navigated either from the menu bar or with the Command-Shift-Right
and Left Arrow commands in iTunes.
HTH
Cheers,
Esther

to actually trim audio and save new files each time? Thanks for the
help.
