I recently reinstalled Windows XP on my bootcamp partition and so as to make the process easier for next time, thought I'd use Disk Utility to make an image. Although the partition only contains 3.7 GB, the compressed DMG is 8.92 GB. Anyone have any ideas why the image is larger than the data on the partition? More importantly, does anyone know of a way to compress, or somehow make a smaller image? I'd really like to use Disk Utility if possible as I could then easily restore the image to the Bootcamp partition, at least I'm thinking that should go rather smoothly.

Thanks for any help,

Steve
