Hi Krister,

There are three ways to do this but I don't know the commands for terminal
so I'll provide info on the two remaining ways I know.

1> There is an "info" dialog associated with every item on your mac that is
apps and files and folders. find the folder you want to share and press
either vo-shift-m and open info from there or command-i to "get info".
here, in sharing and permissions, there is a checkbox marked "share" which
will most likely be unchecked. check this box and close the window.

2> in system preferences, there is a sharing button, activate this button
and make sure that filesharing is checked. Then, click ad user and choose
the folder you want to share. you may have to set it to everyone read and
write if adding it does not do it automatically. There will be a list of
users already at least one and that will be your public folder.

I hope this helps.

Subject: Sharing a folder on the Mac

Ok, i probably should know this but i don't. Now there is a ˙shared˚
folder that you can use to drop files in from another computer on the
network and so on, but what if i want to share my ˙downloads˚ folder
or some other folder, how do i do that and can it be done using VO? I
haven't found any menu items or settings for sharing a folder, so if
anione would like to tell me i'd be happy.
