I've been pretty happy with my Western Digital MyBook. It has Firewire,
USB and eSATA. I've never tried the eSATA but the Firewire and USB2 work
well. There are two FW400 ports so you can daisy chain multiple drives
if you like.
I've never stored my iTunes on an external drive but you can get iTunes
to let you create a new library wherever you want by holding down option
just after you launch the app. It should then prompt you to either quit,
choose library or create library. If you choose create library you give
it a name and can pick your external drive. I'm assuming you can only
work with one library at a time.
