partitioning

does anyone know of a VO friendly partitioning application. i can't  
seem to manage it with the Mac disc utilities. the best i can do is  
make a 50/50/ split of a hard drive. also how can i create an os disc  
that will allow me to boot from it? this  would be created using a  
hard drive.
