Hi Ester, Searching this forum, clicking the links to the songs seems to reveal that you have to pay for them after the week in which they were free.
When I pasted your quote into google, I got a post from you about this in my results list. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Esther" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "General discussions on all topics relating to the use of Mac OS X by theblind" <discuss@macvisionaries.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 01, 2008 11:02 PM Subject: Re: past free on ITunes: Hi David, I don't think there's any way to get the past free singles of the week on iTunes, unless they were iTunes Plus releases (DRM-free), and somone can send you a copy. However, what you can do is google "macrumors free iTunes 2008" and the first thing to come up will be the thread of free iTunes Store offerings, generally week by week, listed by country. This is a volunteer effort, with people reporting for iTunes Stores in Australia, Canada, France, Japan, The Netherlands, Switzerland, the U.K., and U.S. There are occasionally other posts to the thread about other promotions for free songs at other sites. You're restricted to purchases in your country's store. I remember posting about this some time ago as a good way to practice "purchases", since you'd be buying these songs for $0.00. You do need to have an account, though. Occasionally there are free audiobook releases, such as Jane posted a while ago. There are still a few free sampler book releases that came out as podcasts -- Audible UK released Michelle Paver's "Wolf Brother" (the first book in a Young Adult series read by Ian McKellan) as a podcast, and that's still there. Another nice music offering released as a podcast series was the Andras Schiff lecture tutorial performances of the Beethoven piano sonatas at Wigmore Hall -- a Guardian Culture podcast. Again, this is long since off the subscription feed, but you can still get the MP3 files from the Guardian web page by googling "Guardian Schiff". Somehow, I don't think this is the kind of free music you were thinking of <smile>. Anyway, just some suggestions.
