Hey there, how are you doing?
I hope everything is well fo ryou.
Anyhow, once you download Adium, which should be in your downloads
folder by default. If not, go to where you ahve downloaded it.
Launch the program, and the file will be presented on the finder
window. Pretty much what happens here is that, the DMG, or known as
Disk Image gets mounted to your desktop, or the finder window. After
you launch it, another folder will open automatically. Here you will
find a couple of files, and one will be labled as Adium. this is
a .app file, and it will just be labled as that. Copy that file with
command plus c, and then close that folder out with command + w.
Close out your download directory if you haven't done so with command
plus w, and then you should be back in the desktop or finder window.
Navigate to your applications folder by pressing command + shift + A,
and you will be automatically taken to the Applications folder. Now,
you will want to hit command + v to paste your applicaition.
Afterwards, you can navigate to it, and activate it by openning it, or
using VO + Space. You will then follow the prompts in setting up
Adium, and you should be set to go.
Make sure that after you have finished everything, you go to your
finder window, or the desktop, whichever you like to call it, and
navigate to the Adium disk image that was previoulsy mounted. Press
Comand + E, to eject that file from your desktop.
I hope this helps.
take care.
Best,
Fonzie

Hi, I just downloaded Adium so I can instant message with the Mac
but am not sure how to instal it. I remember hearing somewhere that
I needed to move things to the applications folder. So, do I need
to move the disc image or the dmg file. If you could send any
responses off list since I am no mail at the moment, it would be
helpful. Thanks.
