in system prefs, go to sharing, go to file sharing, click the options
button, check all the protocals you want to allow connection for and
then
click your name's checkbox.

Subject: Sharing files between Mac and pc revisited
Hi listers.
I must be extremely dense not to find the check box "allow network
users to log in", but i can't find it neither in accounts or in
sharing. I can't see the service "windows file sharing" anywhere.
There is a service called "file sharing" but i don't see anything
about allowing network users to log in there. I don't know whether you
can turn the feature of having to type names and passwords to see
files and/or folders on my shared computer off or not, and maybe it's
a unnecessary risk to take to turn the feature off... i just wanted to
make it easy for the guests who come to my house and want to use my
computer... But as i said, i know i'm not bright at all, so maybe i'm
just being stupid again.
