Alex, I'd also be interested in your Java info. -And, to michael,
here is a link for you…

It's for Java 5, but should get you started just fine.
Smiles,
Cara :)

Hi,
Mike,
I say that the VIP method is still under heavy developement, but http://www.google.com/custom?hl=en&client=google-coop-np&cof=AH:left%3BCX:Google%2520Accessible%2520Search%3BL:http://google.com/coop/intl/en-US/images/custom_search_sm.gif%3BLH:65%3BLP:1%3BVLC:%23551a8b%3BGFNT:%23666666%3BDIV:%23cccccc%3B&cx=000183394137052953072:zc1orsc6mbq&adkw=AELymgXbsZUCZnJylMbDJBmRcfc1_Ka8OgGXICFX4f5MNC0507RziztJVgJa5Y1t3vYoxfLrvh2siG5QkTTFEUxspKMd7z28AO4KqY20wC65mPLs50Swcic&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=Beginning+Perl+Tutorial&spell=1
where the first link is the online copy of a book, and the
second is the very tutorial from which I began programming.
As far as Perl GTK+ goes, I apparently missed an inportant peice
of information regarding Voiceover and Perl GTK+ on the Mac, and
am awaiting clarification.
Java is another option. I will post the classes I am taking from
Stanford Colledge's online program and post the link tommorrow.
Well about VIP methods, please feel free to E-mail me personally
about that as I am the lead developer who is responsible to
ensure this works on any platform with the greatest accessibility.
Thanks for listening,

Hi,
There is the VIP method for accessible developement that will
allow you to make a blind friendly/sighted app. However, if
you want a different spin, there is Perl GTK+ that you can
install, and then develope in Perl. That looks like the most
accessible thing at the moment, besides Java. We are facing
this issu as we speak on the Accessibility Developers Mailing
List. If you want to go either root, I can recommend some
Tutorials if you like.
Thanks for listneing,

hey all;
so i have a question for you all. I want to learn how to
write programs and what not on the mac. I want to write some
user programs that would work on the mac for sighted people
and also for blind users. Could someone point me in the right
direction to show me what a good starting point is for
writing my first program and going on from there? How did you
who program on this list get started?
thanks oh and is there a good mailing list for new
programmers on the mac? What programs will i require in order
to get started? Is there any good books?
thanks a lot
Michael
