My experience with voice clips is that whatever I do in system voice is
immediately reflected after syncing with nano. I can change the rate,
change the voice, Now, it does take a while but even if there is nothing
else to do, the sync process generates voice cilips. I cannot speak to the
windows experience but I have not had to turn off and then back on spoken
menus.

This must be a known bug, as I have the same issue over here. I have
reported it though. I'd suggest all yall call Apple Care and do the same,
so that we can get an updated patch.

I will say that unchecking that box to enable speech, hitting apply, then
rechecking the box, and hitting apply again definitely did the trick over
here. It'll take quite a while to resync the speech down though, so be
aware. Mine took about 30 minutes, but remember, I got an older Mac only
with u s b 1.1 ports, so that could a been part of the issue with my lag.
Anyway, give that a shot, and get back with me on your findings so that I
can relay 'em to Apple.

Chris.
