If it's easy for you to restore your preferred settings that would be good. If anyone's ever going to fix this, they need instructions for reproducing the problem that work reliably.

You should also check that you both have JavaScript on or off, and Flash installed and enabled or not. Runaway JS or runaway Flash could crash Safari.
As far as the page, yes, this is the exact same page, with the exact same log in information, and viewing the exact same pages, both in journal view, and in journal mode.
