Evert, it will likely come down to personal choice. SOme may find one
package more accessible than the other or some portion more accessible
than the other. Some may find the cost to be an issue and they are
more interested in the free Open Office solution. In the end it only
matters that you choose the software package that fits your needs. I
personally do not base my evaluation on the cost as much as
functionality, usability, and accessibility. If iWorks proves to be
more accessible than Open Office, I'll happily spend the money for it.
Now if iWorks turns out to be accessible enough, I may also be able to
justify finally moving from windows to the Mac at work. That is one
area that prevents me from making the change and I'm sure they will
not adopt Open Office as a solution.
