I've always used ^S to save things in Windows, almost much every program
recognises that keystroke.

That's a good idea; the current approach of having to scroll the tabs
back and forth pretty much defeats the point of having tabbed sheets in
the first place. Alternatively the tabs could squish up like they do in
Firefox (or the Windows task bar), so you just see the first few
characters of the name (and see the rest as a tooltip if required).
