What is the /nonav/ directory?
/nonav/ added to the URL permits a page on OOo website to be displayed without the navigation bar (the left column on any page)
I cannot see the nonav directory in the source view of OOo files. Why not? What makes this directory different?
What is the /*checkout*/ directory?
*checkout* is a CVS command, meaning a file is retrieved from server
So, does this mean that when I checkout a file, it goes into a checkout directory, that shows I've checked out this file? Can I see this in the source view of OOo files? I haven't been able to find this...
How are files placed into these directories?
i believe you already know, OOo website is managed using CVS (Concurrent Versioning System). a web interface is provided for CVS, so anyone can look at a file, without need to install and configure additional software (a CVS client)
Hmmm, so does this mean that even though I cannot see the nonav directory in the tree, and it is above the /source/ and /broswe /directories, that I can still just navigate to it in cvs and it will work the same as other directories below the /source/ and /browse/ directories?
I'm really not asking about stuff I already know... or if I am I don't know that I am. I wouldn't ask, if I already knew.
So far I have only worked in directories below the /source/ and /browse/ directories.
What does it mean when files are in these directories?
Example:
http://installation.openoffice.org/nonav/source/browse/*checkout*/installation/readlicense/docs/readme/readme.xrm?rev=HEAD&only_with_tag=HEAD&content-type=text/plain
in this example you try to download (*checkout*) a file from the CVS repository and display the raw content in a browser window without additional website elements (nonav)
?? so, do you meant that I just go to installation/www/readlicense/docs/readme/readme.xrm ?
So, how did the sender of this link find the URL that was provided above?
I will try again to ask that person directly, I guess.
Thanx, Diane
