I would love to see this preso. I will be glad to pay for the shipping, if you could burn it to a CD. Rod, I really think that you should consider getting a Linspire computer with Linspire 5.0. You are more a sophisticated end user than I am, but I do know from reading your posts that you probably would not call yourself a script hacker. That is exactly what Linspire is for. If you are open to testing it, I will see about geting one for you. I would consider purchasing your CNR membership, if needed. The only problem for you, though, is that I recall that you are on dial up, because you live in a remote area of Kansas. I will brainstorm with the Linspire guys and see if there is a recommended solution for you. I think that you will be really impressed with Linspire 5.0. SuSE or Xandros or Mepis or Knoppix are okay for intermediate users, but for end users like you and I, Linspire really is the best solution if you have more complex stuff like audio that you need to do. SuSE, Mepis and Knoppix are getting there, but they are still lagging behind Linspire. Linspire is actually kind of what Christensen would call an up-market migration by a disruptive technology. Linspire is actually a low-end disruption, because for not much money, you get tons and tons of free software. Okay, that same software could also be obtained for free over the Internet, but Linspire is for more demanding customers who aren't able to do that for themselves, and so Linspire sells the service of providing you with an out-of-the-box plug-and-play experience which really does rival what you would see on Apple or Windows. And all for not much money. You should also go to Sub300.com, because they have really good prices there for total out-of-the-box Linspire solutions. The weakness of the Linspire solution is the need to have a high speed connection, but the Linspire community is really as tight as this OOo community, and I'm sure that if you spent some time on their forums, you would find someone there who is willing to brainstorm a solution for you. > Personally, I > could give a flying fig whether it's in rm, wav, Ogg Vorbis, mp3 > or whatever. I think that if we could get you into a decent Linspire 5.0 box, you would be amazed. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
