We'll need more information than that. What's the error?
Please consider trying our latest "stable" version (1.1.4). Or you could experiment with the beta version. The next version of OOo will have improved Excel filters. This problem may be already solved.
But once again, I can't know if the problem is solved until you tell us what the problem is. What happens when the Excel user opens the file? What's the error? If you wish, you can send me a sample document that illustrates the problem.
