I'm not sure I understand your reply. After running the Dic000 macro I
restart OO. If I go to tools >  options > language settings > languages,
I can see which dicts are installed because they have a checkmark next
to them. If I look for, say, Catalan (the one I'm interested in) it's
not checked. I'm not really interested in setting Catalan as the default
language anyway. I do need to compose/edit a certain number of documents
in Catalan so I create a template that does that. My template requires
Catalan to be checked-off (i.e. installed) and up to now, the only way
to do that is to copy (or move) the dic and aff files from my home
openoffice directory to the appropriate one in /opt .
I'm sorry but I don't understand what you're saying about this.
