Is there a way to pre-set the openoffice.org configuration without actually
opening OpenOffice.org.
What I want is have a 'dumb-proof' layout of the OpenOffice.org writer with not
so many icons and with a simple interface for end-users to open and learn
easily (as opposed to be dizzy from so many icons and nuts and bolts).
What I am doing is a simple desktop with simplified applications, to have OOo
but with simple icons, kind of like WordPad or some basic word procesor.
Neat idea. I think that what you want is in:
<OOo2.0>/share/config/soffice.cfg/modules/swriter/
Take a look at:
* menubar/menubar.xml
* statusbar/statusbar.xml
* toolbar/standardbar.xml
And perhaps a couple more files in toolbar/.
It's probably safe to configure OOo the way you like it, and then just
copy these files.
Cheers,
Daniel.
