Whatever solution for the feature we might choose at the end, it's too late for OOo2.0. For this version we can only search for a workaround that prevents data loss in the document converter. And as I wrote already, an investigation is done currently, but it is not a complete solution for the problem with this feature (that needs to be enhanced), it's only a partial fix. You should also see that all version streams in the old document are also stored in the old format, so they need to be converted also This format conversion for all the versions needs more than a few lines of code that (as always) bear a risk for new issues. My current estimation is that this is not doable for OOo2.0 so we have to keep all versions in the old format and only convert the "regular" one. Of course this needs some discussion wether this is acceptable. It's not a violation of the Open Document format because "versions" are not specified in this format, it's an OOo feature. Whatever we do I would like to restrict it to the case of the document converter and not change anything in the "regular" SaveAs command because that allows to limit the QA effort.
